Winning with 6 in 1 Blackjack
For those ‘in the know’, 6 in 1 blackjack is not any different from standard blackjack…for the most part. As you may be aware, blackjack is the game that casinos loathe. They offer it because their customers love to play it but, for the most part, the odds are in the favour of the player.
As a result, they have opted to come up with new and crazy ideas that will swing the potential to win in their direction. Most of this comes through the introduction of ‘side bets’.
As you can probably guess from the name, 6 in 1 blackjack has six different side bets (uniquely named, I know!). I want to talk you through a few tips and tricks on winning money with this type of blackjack on this page.
Winning Standard Blackjack
Yes. Most of the focus in 6 in 1 blackjack is likely going to be on the side bets. However, you must not forget that 6 in 1 blackjack is still going to be a game of blackjack. This means that most of the tips and tricks that you find in standard blackjack are going to apply here. So, here are a few things that you should think about.
Firstly, you should always hit when you have a soft 17. If you do, you are pretty much going to be nailed on a win. You should split your aces and eights. You should double down on an 11. If you have a hard 17 or greater, then you should stand on it. If any of these terms mean absolutely nothing to you, then you should consult a quick guide to playing standard blackjack. I promise you, it is going to make sense in mere seconds if you go down that route!
If you get 5s or 10s, then you should never split. If you get a 12 through 16 and the dealer has a 7 or higher then you should not stand. Also, there is no such thing as a winning streak.
As I mentioned at the start; when you play Blackjack then the odds are very much going to be in your favour…if you learn how to play properly. If you are making stupid decisions because you believe in a winning streak then you are going to be blowing through your bankroll and you are going to find it incredibly tough to win the money back.
Of course, while we are on the subject of your bankroll, it is exceedingly important that you learn how to use it. You absolutely should not be betting outside of your means. You want to ensure that your bankroll lasts as long as possible. This is important whether you are playing standard blackjack or 6 in 1 blackjack. The longer your bankroll lasts, the more chance you have of winning some of that sweet cash.
Specific 6 in 1 Blackjack Tips
Here are your side-bets in 6 in 1 blackjack:
- Perfect pairs: when the first 2 cards the customer draws are the same suit or card. Decent payout rate on this.
- 21+3: this is based upon three card poker. I recommend that you look up the rules of three card poker to know what you are doing here.
- Lucky Ladies: If you get one or two queens on your first draw. Also applies if you get twenty-one on the first draw.
- Lucky Lucky: 19, 20, or 21 based on the first draw of the player.
- Suit’em up: when the same suit appears in the first draw.
- Buster blackjack: any dealer excess is paid out.
Obviously, some of these side bets are more likely to appear than others. While it may be tempting to lump some cash down on all of the side-bets, this is probably going to be one of the quickest ways to lose. This is because not all of them can win. When I am playing, I tend to opt for perfect pairs and lucky ladies.
You can win a decent amount of the time. The payout is not that brilliant. However, when you are racking up win after win as you play, you can make a decent sum of cash when you do this.
If you are feeling a bit more adventurous, then you can opt for the 21+3 three card poker side-bet, but I have not seen massive wins on this. It also means that you really need to understand how three card poker actually works.
